I have had the opportunity to work with Martinez Architects in the design of the Administration Complex for Harris County Emergency Services District No. 9. As Chief of Operations, it was imperative for us to design a facility that would allow for expansion as our department grows. Martinez Architect’s took the time to meet with each Division in hopes of gaining a better understanding of their daily operations and assisted them with identifying their spatial requirements. Ricardo Martinez and his colleagues have made it a priority to be available to take our questions, provide sketches of possible alternate design solutions and provide input on general questions. I would absolutely recommend Martinez Architects to others. It has been a real pleasure working with the entire team and we are looking forward to our next project.

The Martinez Architect’s team prioritized engaging the ESD and all stakeholders to participate in the designing and programming of the new Administration Complex. The firm assisted the district through the feasibility period to evaluate the existing structure and how to meet the needs of the district and department. Communication has been the key to success in initial programming, through design and construction. Martinez Architects evaluated the needs of each department and provided presentations that led the district and department to reach their design decision. The team at Martinez Architects have been available at any time to ensure our needs are met. Martinez Architects has been with us in the planning stages of the last four built fire stations. For the invaluable resources they provide, they are the preferred Architect of the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department.

Hays County ESD #6 selected Martinez Architects to design our new Fire Station 74. Their RFQ presentation went above and beyond our highest expectations, setting them apart from an extremely well-qualified group of candidates. What we have found throughout the design process is that their follow-through is even better than their first impression. Ricardo, Justin and their team are responsive, creative, experienced and have created a completely custom design for our new station. We are confident our project is in the hands of the right firm.

Working with Martinez Architects was a positive experience. Ricardo Martinez personally attended all construction meetings prepared to answer questions from the owner and contractor and coordinated a schedule for the project with all parties. He was always available by phone, text or email throughout the construction process and warranty time. He continues to answer questions and provide assistance for the owner beyond the warranty time period. He protected the owner’s contingency funds by properly managing and promptly addressing all RFI’s, ASI’s and change orders. Our experience with Martinez Architects was positive and our relationship with Martinez Architects remains positive.
